Sogavare sends 32 SI Police to China for Month-training

A delegation consisting of 32 officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ian Vaevaso and Assistant Commissioner (AC) Evelyn Thugea left for China for a month’s training.

Most of the officers who are from the RSIPF National Response Department left the country on 8 October 2022 for a seminar on police techniques.

What techniques these officers don't know that the Chinese police know? The Chinese government and its police and private attack-dogs are among the most repressive police forces in the world, and no one knows what kinds of techniques these SI police will get or learn from the Chinese.

The new states:

The Counsellor hoped all the officers could exchange with their Chinese colleagues, gain better understanding of Chinese police, diversified Chinese cultures and friendly Chinese people.

What do these SI officers going to gain from a police force that don't hold the same values as democratic police forces in the world? Chinese police are responsible for the eradication of most of the  Uighur's ethnic minority with their re-education camps. Do they really wanna know the Chinese communist police tactics? That's kind of a strange thing to say. But in the world of bullshitting and propaganda, the most repressive police force is going to show SIRP good techniques, such as what? The kind of techniques the Chinese people used on their citizens during COVID19 where innocent families were dragged out of their homes and cars and forced to take COVID19 test? What are they going to learn in China that would enhance their police tactics in SI?

He added after the training the officers would contribute more to the better cooperation between RSIPF and Chinese Police, and enhance the friendship between China and Solomon Islands.

This kind of posture is more political and propaganda than anything. Nothing will come out of a month-long training that would contribute substantially to the growth of the country's police force. It is a propaganda tool used by the Chinese government to clean up the image of its repressive police force.

Earlier in the first year of the SI and China's friendship, a number of SI journalists were sent to China. Again, the trip was a propaganda piece of work! And their pictures and story were flashed all over the media and social media as if they had just accomplished something rare. What the story really missed was the fact that China is not a country that is kind to journalists or the profession itself. It is a country that arrested, tortured and murdered its own journalists for reporting truths and facts. A good example of this was the reporter who was reporting from Wuhan during the outbreak of COVID19, he was arrested and never heard of again. His videos were chilling, and were filled with warnings that what he was doing may cost him his life, and he paid the ultimate price. Yet, these journalists posed for pictures in Beijing as if they were there to learn journalism ethics, which was a joke!

In China, you are not allowed to do something that maybe construed as an attack on Xin Jinping or the communist regimes there. Which means, you must not say something that may offend them. In other words, yea, go there and and learn but if you say something that piss them off, it's going to be a serious problem. And I'm pretty sure the SI delegations were instructed to do that.

Are these the kind of techniques SIRP will learn from the Chinese police?

Officers are "urged the officers to follow strict discipline and high standard performance from all members of the delegation." And don't ever thing you have the kinds of freedom you have in Honiara over there. One single mistake and you are in trouble.

The Chinese Communist Party didn't just survive decades of oppression because the people loved their style of government. They survived this long because of its violent, unrestricted police brutality. To say that the SIRP officers will learn from various police departments in China is just plain silly.

In 2006 and recently 2021, well-trained SIRP - who were trained by Australia and NZ - since 2003, failed to stop rioters from burning shops down. The truth of the matter is, SIRP won't ever use deadly force against their own citizens. Whatever crap they will learn in China won't matter at all to the people of the country. Still, the people will remain free, and police will remain a force that won't use their weapons on their own people. This trip is for show and propaganda than anything else.

Sogavare lied to the world

SOGAVARE LIED AT THE UNGA The Prime Minister of SI spoke at the United Nations General Assembly, attacking two important key issues he believes that are hurting his government and SI.  First, he went after what he called an effort on 'Social Media' to spread disinformation about his 'China – SI' security pact, which he signed earlier this year. In it, Sogavare claimed that most of the things said about him and his new friends, the Chinese Communist Party, were done deliberately to mislead his country and the world. As a result of that, he said the misleading information led to riots and looting, as we'd seen at the end of 2021.  Secondly, Sogavare attacked – indirectly – Australia and its allies such as the US and Britain. Choosing a foreign partner is the right of a sovereign, independent state. He argued that his government's partnership with the Chinese government is solely for the interest of the country, and decried any perception that SI was becoming an a...

Sogavare is a puppet Prime Minister

In his past three terms as a prime minister, he was considered a stubborn leader who would bully his ministers and backbenchers to bend to his will. During his three terms, he lost the majority of MPs, each time he was removed from the office of the PM and replaced by new PMs via secret ballot.  The Question is now is - why is he still in power?  The answer is, Mr. Sogavare is backed by Chinese money. The first trial of his Chinese-back government occurred at the end of 2021 when Parliament met to consider a No-Confidence Motion filed by the Leader of Opposition, Hon. Matthew Wale. After screaming and shouting on the floor of parliament led by Sogavare, the vote was heavily in favor of the Mr. Sogavare. He decisively defeated the NCM giving him time to implement his Chinese-backing agenda.

Election Deferred to 2023

Solomon Times: visit this site There has been a flurry of international media and commentary attention on Solomon Islands in recent months. Since the news broke of Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare’s intention to sign a security agreement with the People’s Republic of China, scrutiny of his every move and word has been intense. There have been two recent developments that have caused yet more scrutiny of the Sogavare government - the government’s intention to delay next year’s federal election and moratorium on some international ships from its ports. Once again, too much of the reporting and commentary casts these events through the overly narrow lens of geo-strategic competition. The interplay of domestic political dynamics is overlooked or oversimplified, yet it is only by understanding these dynamics that a full picture of what is happening in Solomon Islands can be drawn.
